We have been having some of the best fun fishing lately, targeting King George Whiting with some really outstanding results. On this day, our mate Gawaine Blake from Victoria(who's a KG guru) came out for a fish to show us how it is done. We tried a different technique to how we have been targeting them and It worked really well for us. Something we will have to keep trying out! Hope you enjoy the video and if you would like try the new Vexed Bottom Worm and Vexed Mirco Meat see the links below!
]]>This is by far the best day fishing for King George Whiting that I have ever experienced, and if you knew just how close to shore we were I think you would be surprised! We have never really spent much time targeting KG's before and I think after this awesome day I will be doing a lot more of this fishing. The best part about this fishing is just how accessible it is to everybody, you don't have to go out far and wide to find great fishing like this, you also only need a small boat. Fishing the edges of broken weedy sand patches with the Vexed Bottom Worm and Micro Meats rigged with fresh squid was definitely the go. An important part to catching quantity of fish is having extremely fresh bait, spend the time in the morning to catch yourself some fresh squid.
Hope you enjoy the video and if you would like try the new Vexed Bottom Worm and Vexed Mirco Meat see the links below!

]]>KG whiting have got to be one of the best eating fish in the ocean and the best part about them is just how accessible they are to everybody. You only need a small boat to catch them and you really don't have to go far from shore to get a good haul. In this video we headed out for a quick fish to catch some KG's with the soon to be released Vexed Bottom Worms. We aren't KG experts but we have been having a bit of luck lately catching a few around broken weed and sand patches with fresh squid as bait.
Vexed Micros launching next week!
]]>Join Matt as he continues his Blackwood adventure chasing that elusive 40cm Black Bream. We leave no bank unturned, fishing from the saltwater at the mouth all the way up to hidden backwater creeks where the fish may have never even seen a lure! Many fish were caught, some lost and a great time was had. We risked life and limb (finger) in our pursuit of bream fishing glory, but you'll have to watch and see if Matt became the hero he spoke of in episode 1.

]]>In this episode of Tacklewest TV we follow Matt down to the Blackwood River in Augusta in search of that elusive big black bream. The Blackwood river is regarded as one of the best places to catch big bream and offers a wide variety of areas to fish for them. There is flats for those who like to fish the shallow water or you can venture up the river to fish sunken trees and snags in the deep water. The fish fight extremely hard and often due to the large amount of barnacles on the snags you have fish fish heavy leaders and drags just to be able to stop the fish when hooked.
This is part one of our Blackwood River expedition, be sure to subscribe for our next video release.

]]>Bit of a mash up off vids here from what turned out to be an epic day fishing in absolutely glamour conditions. We headed out with a plan to go and target Bull Mahi Mahi but upon getting out to the area we could tell the bite was just not happening. We moved FAD to FAD trying to cover ground quickly for that morning bit but it just wasn't happening for us. We dicked around for a little before making the call to go check some jigging spots and that turned out to be a good decision(not bad DJ George). Getting to the jigging spot and the fishing was on fire with nearly every drop resulting I double and triple hookups of good sized fish. There was almost no drift and we pretty much just sat on the fish without moving. Epic Day!
Plenty of great fish to be caught out there during the demersal ban.

]]>We headed out with a plan to do something different and target some King George Whiting off Fremantle with the new Vexed Micro Meats and Bottom Worms, they are soon to be released. We didn't have any spots so we went looking for suitable ground and managed to stumble across what we thought looked good to try our luck on. As the wind died down the fishing really turned on and we had an extremely enjoyable day on the water with heaps of fish being caught on the new Vexed Gear!
The Vexed Mirco Meat/Bottom Worm are launching soon
]]>Micro Meat
Vexed has now developed the “Micro Meat Hybrid” as a micro version of the Bottom Meat for smaller fish species from boat or shore. This hybrid jig has been designed with whiting in mind to either use on its own, or on the bottom of a paternoster rig as a “Fish Catching Sinker”. 70% or more whiting are caught on the bottom dropper hook of a traditional paternoster rig. During our testing sessions for sand whiting and king george whiting, we caught more fish on the Micro Meat Hybrid fished as the sinker than we did on the bottom dropper hook.
By using the Micro Meat Hybrid as the sinker, you now have two prime fish catchers down on the seafloor.
These have been tied using super strong and sticky sharp BKK hooks and a carefully selected mix of glow/UV flash fibre and rubber.
Micro Meat is available in a large range of weights from 3.5gm – 130gm, and designed to use small strips of fish or squid as bait for species including whiting, bream, flathead and inshore snapper.
BOTTOM WORM MUTSU
The Vexed “Bottom Worm Mutsu” might be a little bit different to anything you have seen before, but that’s because VEXED has only just created this new concept off the back of its extremely successful big brother “The Vexed Bottom Meat”. Bottom Meat revolutionised reef fishing for demersal species by presenting more attractive baits and by being able to deploy baits deeper and more efficiently using less weight on lighter slow pitch jigging outfits that modern anglers prefer to use.
The Bottom Worm Mutsu has been designed as a micro version of the Bottom Meat, but for lighter outfits and smaller inshore species. It can be used on its own, or on the bottom of a paternoster rig as a “Fish Catching Sinker”. 70% or more whiting are caught on the bottom dropper hook of a traditional paternoster rig. By using the Bottom Worm Hybrid as the sinker, you now have two prime fish catching baits down on the seafloor. During our testing sessions for sand whiting and king george whiting, we caught more fish on the Bottom Worm Hybrid fished as the sinker than we did on the bottom dropper hook.
With a super sharp BKK Mutsu circle hook and a durable, stretchy little scented Vexed Bottom Worm, this will present small soft baits such as worm, pipi, squid, prawn and mussel perfectly. Available in sizes from 3.5gm- 130gm and hook sizes from #10 to #1, Bottom Worm Hybrid’s will suit most fish species from boat, beach, estuary, jetty or river bank.
Bottom Worm Hybrid’s can also be jigged through structure or slowly hopped across the bottom without bait for many inshore species such as bream, flathead and whiting.
