Designed for serious battles with giant tuna, marlin and heavyweight pelagics, the Saltiga LD80 combines immense drag pressure, massive line capacity and exceptional structural rigidity in a reel built to perform under extreme loads.
At its core is a one-piece aluminium frame machined from a single block, providing outstanding strength and keeping the drivetrain perfectly aligned when the reel is under heavy drag pressure. Oversized stainless-steel gearing delivers the cranking power and durability required for prolonged fights with big fish.
The ATD Carbon Drag system produces an impressive 27kg (59.5lb) of maximum drag, while maintaining the smooth and consistent drag performance needed to protect line and keep pressure on powerful fish.
A true 2-speed drivetrain provides a 3.9:1 high gear for quickly recovering line and a powerful 1.7:1 low gear when maximum torque is required during the toughest stages of the fight.
